I can’t believe they got me handling the spiders as I did! I’m glad I have video as I would think I imagined it! I’m going to buy a book in order to keep learning about these fascinating creatures and handle them whenever I find them in my house. The fear was really quite debilitating before and I was desperate not to pass that on to my child. Now, I am confident that I can handle spiders calmly in front of him and it has sparked in me a fascination with the animals, too!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\nThank you both for everything!\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\nFiona Locke<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n

I\u2019m definitely looking into get a pet tarantula when I move out .<\/p>\n
If you have any recommendations on reading material or links about spiders and pet spiders it would be much appreciated.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve been telling everyone I can and have already posted on my Instagram. It\u2019s such a fantastic course and I cannot thank you enough for taking it so slow with me and helping me over come my phobia.<\/p>\n

Wanted to send a quick note to say I took the boys to London Zoo today and Jack confidently wandered into the spider enclosure no problem at all! There were Orb spiders hanging down all over the place but didn\u2019t phase Jack at all and he happily chatted to the member of staff about his knowledge. What a result!\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n
We\u2019re still aiming to leave for Bali at the end of Dec, would be lovely to stay in touch.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

No matter how they try to be calm when confronted by a spider the response is always the same. Sweating, nausea, panic, rapid heartbeat and sometimes much worse can occur. Do spiders deserve this reputation? Here at\u00a0the Naturally Wild Company\u00a0we think not and we are now offering a three hour course that aims to assist the arachnophobe to not only overcome their fears but to leave with a better understanding of these much maligned creatures.<\/p>\n
The course:<\/strong>The day lasts from 10am until 2.00pm and costs just \u00a3150<\/b>\u00a0per person with a maximum of 6 participants. (This includes entrance to the park)<\/p>\nThe schedule of the session is subject to change but will include:<\/p>\n
\n- 10.00: Health and Safety talk.<\/li>\n
- 10.15: What are we afraid of? How phobias become stuck in our subconscious mind. Group question and answer session.<\/li>\n
- 10.45: Everything you ever wanted to know about spiders but were afraid to ask.\u00a0Talk and question and answer session presented by Ray Hale of The British Tarantula Society and The British Arachnological Society.<\/li>\n
- 11.15: Break.<\/li>\n
- 11.30: Group session with Angela Hale from Drusillas and Ray Hale that includes a gradual exposure to the spiders. All spiders are securely held in their tanks that allow the participants to see for themselves these mini-beasts at close quarters.<\/li>\n
- 12.30:\u00a0 An introduction to British spiders and how to recognise and identify them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Learn how to safely, and without fear remove unwanted visitors to your home. This will be followed by a chance to meet (if desired) some of the spiders more exotic but perfectly harmless cousins\u2026the tarantulas.<\/p>\n
\n- 1.00: Course finishes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Cancellation rules are as follows:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n\n- No refund will be given regardless of the notice given for cancellation.<\/li>\n
- If the course is cancelled by Drusillas Park due to unforeseen circumstances, then a full refund will be given.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
